Educational Research

My area of research is:

Title:  An exploration of maths curriculum access for learners with Foetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders (FASD) in KS3 and KS4. A bounded case study of one local authority.

From September 2024 I will be undertaking “Research to Doctor of Education (EdD), Part time (PR0183), School of Education and Social work, Faculty of Health, Education and Sciences” at Birmingham City University.

I will need to complete the “Postgraduate Certificate in Research Practice” and the modules: “Critical perspectives” in year one and  a “Pilot Enquiry” in year 2. The thesis stage will follow in years 3 and 4 (and possibly beyond)

I would be interested in liaising and communicating with any other researcher or professional working in the same area of Research. Namely, anyone working with learners with FASD of any age and any maths teacher/ support worker, SENCO with experience of working with learners with complex needs and SEND in mathematics.

I am attending the Maths Association SEND conference on 28th September 2024.

I am happy to send a copy of my current research proposal.

It will be 50 years since first going to Clifton, Nottingham College of Education to train as a teacher then studying for a BEd at Nottingham University and 30 years since the award of MSc (Educational Management) at Manchester Metropolitan University.
